Application:

Slaked lime is also called hydrated lime. When quicklime reacts with water in a precisely defined amount necessary for complete hydration of calcium and magnesium oxide, a powdery product is obtained. Contains calcium dihydroxide Ca(OH)2. Particle size: 100% below 100 microns. Due to its basic chemical nature, calcium dihydroxide is also called calcium base. In common practice, it is known as slaked lime, as it is obtained by the reaction of calcium oxide (quicklime) with water. The process is called ‘slaking’. Slaked lime is mainly used in construction and agriculture. In construction, it is used to produce lime mortars for masonry and plastering. In the mining and processing industry, in flotation and wastewater treatment. In the energy sector for softening and neutralising process water. In drinking water and wastewater treatment plants. In the leather industry. It kills microorganisms and is therefore used to disinfect premises (mainly for farm animals) and residential buildings. It is used in many areas of agriculture – liming of acidic soils, preparation of bleaching lime and others. In addition, lime is used to extract sugar in sugar production.
