Purpose:

Knauf AQUAPANEL UNIVERSAL cement boards are used for interior and exterior applications. In internal application the board serves as a base for tiling and is limited by the wall height up to 2750 mm and the weight of the tiling of 30 kg/m2. In external application the board finds a variety of uses: 1. 2. Installation as cladding on a steel or timber structure, e.g. when renovating concrete or masonry. 3. For covering small areas, covering beams or ventilation shafts, downpipes. Universal cement board AQUAPANEL UNIVERSAL 8 mm thick is a waterproof building board made of aggregated Portland cement covered with a glass fibre mesh embedded in the front and back of the board. The board offers all the advantages of dry construction. The edges along the width are cut straight and the longitudinal edges are reinforced for extra strength (the EasyEdge®). The thin and extremely lightweight board provides a strong surface for interior and exterior applications. The 8 mm board is non-combustible (class A1 according to EN 13501).

Cementitious fiberboards are an environmentally friendly material. They are free of phenolic, formaldehyde and other toxic compounds. The main binding chemical is cement. The boards are produced by pressing a moulded mixture consisting of softwood sawdust, Portland cement, mineral substances and water. The separation of dust, gases and steam from the slabs is impossible, thanks to the mineralisation of the substances contained and the production technology used. In the event of a fire on the premises, the slabs do not produce smoke, toxic gases or steam.
