Purpose:

TEKAFLEX PU 40 is a one-component polyurethane sealant for expansion joints in construction and for bonding building and metal materials. It is used for sealing and bonding of metal materials, for execution of elastic joints and expansion joints between various materials internally and externally, on facades and on the ground, for sealing joints in vacuum installations, compressed air networks, containers, tanks, silos, aluminium structures and sewer systems, for sealing joints of various materials (window frames, roof tiles, floor slabs). Used for sealing loaded joints in construction and for bonding structures and metal materials. It is also suitable for sealing in containers, tanks, silos and aluminium structures. Resistant to various weather conditions. Easy to paint. For indoor and outdoor use.

Instructions for use:

Before use, we recommend to test the adhesion of the sealant to the substrate. The joint surface should be hard, clean, dust-free and degreased. All loose and poorly bonded parts shall be removed. For better adhesion to porous substrates, use a primer. For optimum elastic performance of the sealant, a proper width to depth ratio of 2:1, or a maximum of 1:1, is important. The sealant should not adhere to the bottom of the joint, but only to the edges. This is achieved by using Tekatrak Back filling tape as the base aggregate/ back filling tape. The minimum joint width is 6 mm and the maximum is 20 mm.
