All wall panels have a built-in tongue and groove interlock system to block water and create a flat finish.
The panels can be installed by several methods. Note that the installation method is a personal choice and preference. Choose the best method to suit your particular renovation
Panels are installed flush to each other with a tongue and groove joint that gives a flush finish that is 100% waterproof, fits over existing tile or any flat surface to create a perfectly flat wall that requires almost no maintenance...and no mold.
Your bathroom, bedroom or feature wall can be tiled in a fraction of the time of traditional tile and wet processes.
Read our guides for installation tips and our support team is always on hand to offer practical guidance during the planning, build and post installation phases.
Recommended tools
- Hand saw, clean-cut model with fine-toothed blade
- Tape measure and pencil
- Model knife for cutting curves or patterns, for a perfectly clean cut
- * Make sure to use a stable flat surface when cutting
- Circular saw or hacksaw- Both can be used, but the blade can often give a rough cut, so test first.
- Glue gun
- Glue (must be solvent free)
- Silicone
- Pins, staples or screws (if used in installation)
- Level
Installation of the panels
MEASURE: Measure the height and width of the area where you intend to place the panels.
CUT: Transfer the measurements to the panel(s) and mark the cut line. Always cut the panel face up. Cut the panel with a fine-toothed saw, and the PVC panel is easy to cut, making it a quick process. After cutting, it is advisable to run some sandpaper over the cut to remove excess and ensure a smooth finish.
APPLICATION: If installing on a corner, start by fixing the inside corner trim. This lining will give a clean waterproof joint with minimum effort. Secure the liner with adhesive, sealant or fasteners depending on the wall. Panels can be lined both vertically and horizontally depending on the desired look and impact. Install the panels from left to right.
INSTALLATION ON TOP OF PANELS: Apply adhesive or sealant to the back of the panel using a zigzag pattern with beads of approximately 10 mm. The amount of adhesive you apply will depend on how flat your wall is.
MOUNTING OVER GIPSOCARTON OR WOOD FRAME: You can use glue/sealer or pins/staples depending on preference.
Insert a fine bead of caulk to the edge you intend to insert into the inner lining of the corner. Insert the bottom corner panel into the trim at an angle that allows positioning without touching the wall. Push the remaining edge of the panel into the trim to ensure a good fit. Then with a steady motion, push the panel against the wall.Check for level and if correct, apply firm pressure to adhere the panel to the wall.
Repeat the process with the remaining panel(s), making sure the panel is correct and fits before applying pressure.
GLUE AND SILICONE
The majority of wall panels are usually installed directly onto a plastered wall or ceiling or directly onto tiles. To save time and mess, panels can also be mounted directly onto ceramic tile with silicone. If you are going over a porous surface, such as plaster, we recommend using a solvent-free adhesive .
ADHESIVES, PINS, SCREWS OR CLAMPS
You can fix, screw or pin the panels on either side of the boards where the tongue and groove locking system is located (the pins will be hidden once another panel is put in place), this will hold the panels in place until the adhesive dries.
INSTALLATION OF CEILING PANELS
TIP: Before cutting the panels to length, measure the width of the ceiling. If you are installing a panel with a silver feature, you may need to cut the first and last panel along its length to achieve a "balanced" look. This will avoid ending up with a thin strip when you come to the point to install the final panel.
Measure the length of your ceiling using the tape measure and transfer it to the panel, marking a straight line above it with a pencil. Cut to size with the saw.
Remove the protective film from the front of the panel.
Apply a generous amount of adhesive/sealant to the back of the panel and secure it to your ceiling using the screws, staples or pins through the tongue of the panel approximately every 30cm.
Repeat the process for each panel, pressing them firmly together using the tongue and groove profile for a neat finish.
To trim the edge of your ceiling, you can use quadrant, cover or end caps.
TIP: Covering is easier by removing the lip from the back with a mock knife. Attach directly to the ceiling and wall using a combination of silicone and double-sided tape (run a silicone bead along the wall and apply the double-sided tape to the edge of the trim that will stick to the ceiling). The double-sided tape holds the trim in place while the silicone sticks.
FINISHINGTo trim around a window, use an outside hard corner.Adjust the corners and fix using a combination of double-sided tape and silicone.
The skirting can be used for a neat finish at floor level.End caps can be used, if you have only partially lined the walls, for a neat vertical or horizontal finish.
"H" Profiles can be used if you want to join panels together (to extend the length or create an effect).
HOW TO CHOOSE PVC ACCESSORIES
The layout of your room will determine the type and amount of profile finishes you need. For example, if you are fitting panels throughout your room, we would recommend four internal corner finishing profiles.
Factors to consider...
-how many internal corners are there?
-How many external corners?
-Do you have window(s)?
As an example. If your room has four inside corners, two outside corners, a window and you are installing ceiling panels,
you will need:
4 X inside corner trim
2 X external corner lining
2 X solid corner
4 X cover
The layout of the room determines the number and type of finishes you need.
Colour of finishing profiles ?
The panel selection will guide you to choose the colour of the profiles. It really comes down to personal preference and the aesthetic of the design you are working with. Our advice is, when choosing the colour of the trim, use the same colour throughout the room, but if your desire is to put contrasting elements or elements close to the colour organisation of the furnishings you can do it to your taste.
In PVC you can choose between white, black or silver. There is also an option with aluminium that you can consider. There is also the B6 universal profile in a wide range of colours.
EASY TO MAINTAIN
Warm soapy water is all you need, no scrubbing, no bleach.
When you add up all the benefits of wall cladding- easy to install, easy to clean, sterility/hygiene, durability and hardwearing, fire retardant, eco-friendly and aesthetically pleasing, you can create your ideal living areas whether that's in the bathroom/wet room, kitchen or wall.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCENon-abrasive cloth, preferably a microfiber cloth, Warm water
Soapy waterWeekly thorough cleaning is recommended. When you start to clean, the PVC panelling can easily be wiped clean using warm soapy water as there are no uneven surfaces or edges (our panels are flush). It is a good habit to cover as large an area as you can. Allow time for the water to soak into any marks or stains on the panels (wait 2- 3 minutes), then start removing the soap with fresh warm water. Once this process is complete, blot your panel(s) dry with a dry microfiber cloth to give a streak-free finish. Subsequently, there is nothing left that is a magnet for dirt, mold and bacteria. Warning- do not bleach or use abrasive cleaners on the panels as this will damage the panels over time, all they need is warm soapy water to maintain and clean thoroughly.
Because our wall panels are equipped with a simple tongue and groove blocking system, you'll find that finishing the panels provides a smooth layer that you can easily wipe clean with soapy water. And no matter where you choose to place the panels, whether it's in a bathroom, kitchen, hallway, bedroom or playroom, your panels will look fresh and well-maintained for years to come.
