XPS (Extruded polystyrene foam)

XPS- or Extruded Polystyrene is a material obtained by another technology- a petroleum product- an aromatic polymer- polystyrene. During the hardening of extruded polystyrene, a homogeneous foam with microscopic closed air pockets is obtained. The resulting material is impermeable to both water and water vapor. The density of XPS is usually greater than that of EPS and is in the range of 30-100 kg/m3. The greater density, as well as the waterproof structure, also determine the areas of application of XPS- structural elements subjected to a greater load, as well as places with continuous contact with water and moisture- basements, plinths, etc.
