Compressed air can be used in different ways, for example as active air to move materials (for example in painting). Can be used for blowing (cleaning, drying) etc. Pneumatics is only one part of the application of compressed air. Standard compressed air installations have (6 – 7) [ bar]- bar pressure. In special cases, a much higher pressure is used: for example, in the production of PET bottles up to 40 bar. Depending on the required pressure and quantity, different types of compressors can be used.

Pneumatic actuators can perform linear and rotary movements. Linear motion through compressed air cylinders is efficient and used for many areas. For example, in the case of pneumatic impact tools and machines that include the pneumatic hammer, the energy of the compressed air is converted into kinetic energy. Vibrators and vibrators are also pneumatic machines. Valves, valves, feeders, tools and vehicles can also be equipped with pneumatic actuators.

In spraying, compressed air is used to atomize or apply substances. As soon as the air exits the jet nozzle, energy is released and it can carry materials or liquids with it. Spray paint guns are just one example of the use of pneumatics. Surface treatment processes, such as sandblasting or gravel, but also concrete and mortar application, are carried out with the help of pneumatics. If not only compressed air but also heat is used at the same time, pneumatic metals can also be applied using pneumatics, such as arc spraying. Liquids can be finely atomized using pneumatics, such as when using insecticides or herbicides in agriculture and horticulture.
