GYPSUM PLASTERS

Gypsum plaster is one of the most frequently used in interior renovations, due to its ability to achieve a smooth surface when plastering, providing a good base for painting. The main advantages to which gypsum plaster owes its popularity are flexibility, the inability to crack, good insulation and ensuring good adhesion to the base and decorative material. At its core, as is clear from its name, is gypsum, which is one of the most preferred materials for home renovation. Today's gypsum plasters, in addition to the base material, also contain fillers and modified polymer additives. Fillers help to create a more homogeneous and resistant mixture, with less material consumption, and polymers add waterproof and elastic qualities, as well as better adhesion when applied to the base surface. Gypsum has good sound and heat insulation qualities, keeping the temperature in the room, which in turn increases the comfort in it. It is a significantly softer and more ductile material than cement, which not only reduces the possibility of cracking. In addition, gypsum is a breathable and fire-resistant material, and does not need finishing works, as it performs the function of a final layer. However, before its placement, the walls (and ceilings) must be carefully cleaned and primed, as the primer helps the plaster layer to adhere better. This reduces the absorbency and helps the gypsum layer to dry faster, preventing it from cracking.

Fire protection: Gypsum provides Class A fire protection, which defines materials made with it as non-combustible. The reason is that its crystal structure contains two molecules of water. As the temperature of the gypsum plaster rises, it is released, forming a "wall of steam". It prevents the fire from spreading.

Comfort: Of great importance for comfort at home is the feeling that interior surfaces give us. This, in turn, directly depends on the value of the coefficient of thermal conductivity of the materials. For example, gypsum plasters can easily and quickly absorb heat. This leads to the uniformity of the temperature of the walls and the air in the room, which creates a balanced environment and a sense of comfort. Gypsum surfaces resemble the warmth of wooden elements in the interior and create surfaces that are pleasant to the touch.

Healthy environment: Let's start by saying that gypsum has the same pH as human skin. This makes it extremely gentle to man and the environment he inhabits. Gypsum plasters are odorless, do not irritate the skin and do not contain toxic gases. In addition, they regulate the climate through their vapor permeability.
