CUTTING TOOLS
Hand cutting tools that come into frequent use are sheet metal and metal shears, pattern knives, saws, hole saw knife, plasterboard saw, itong saw, folding saw knife, mineral wool knife, discs, drill bits, ratchets, knife with breakable blade, spare blades, spare knives, mini hacksaw, dummy knife spare blades, dummy knives, hacksaw sheet, etc.
Saws as a type of hand tools are: ordinary or also known as Turkish saws, coarse-toothed saw, frame or tension saw, wide hand saw, fine-toothed saw.
The length of the band of the ordinary saw is 300-400 mm and the width is between 50-70 mm. An ordinary saw consists of a comfortable handle and a handle, the teeth are directed in the forward direction, so cutting is done by pulling.
The fine-toothed fitter has a thinner strip 250-300 mm long and 50-60 mm wide. This type of saw is used for more delicate cutting. Fine-tooth saws as a type of hand tools are divided into simple, reversible, single-sided and double-sided.
The length of the belt of the large-tooth spreader is 300 -350 mm, and the width is from 70 to 100 mm. This type of saw allows reinforcement of the upper end with a bent steel neck that does not allow any bending during the work process.
Manual metal shears are used for cutting sheet material and tin. The maximum sheet thickness for steel is 1.0 mm, for aluminum - 2.5 mm. Different tasks require the use of a tool with different characteristics.
Straight scissors for direct cutting. They can only be used for cutting in a straight line or in a circle with a large diameter.
Curved scissors. They have rounded blades that are convenient for cutting curly elements or holes.
Scissors with a lever mechanism. You can cut sheets up to 2.5 mm thick.
By the location of the blades, there are left and right tools.
The left ones are designed to make a cut rounded to the left side, and the lower cutting edge is located on the left. Hold them in your right hand. On the right, the location of the cutting edge on the right and the ability to cut, rounded on the right.
The cutting tool also differs in the method of manufacture. Products are made by casting or forging. Forged products are more expensive, but will last longer than cast ones and do not require frequent sharpening. To sharpen the scissors well, you will need a horizontal sander or a sander with an abrasive wheel to sharpen the cutters. You can have the scissors properly sharpened at the tool shop or it is better to take them to a specialist workshop.
