In construction chemistry, there are many products with different purposes, offered in the form of dry or ready-to-use mixtures /pastes/, such as waterproofing compositions, various types of adhesives, grouting mixtures, internal and external basic plasters, putties, screeds, sealants. This variety can often cause confusion when choosing, so it is necessary to know the characteristics of individual products and, accordingly, their possibility of application in different work situations. Among the most commonly used mineral binders in dry construction mixes are Portland cement (gray or white), semi-hydrated gypsum, lime, as well as quick-setting cements. Modifying additives are a key component in the recipes of modified for dry mixtures, thereby significantly improving the technical and technological characteristics of the material, as well as regulating the course of some basic functions, such as the need to retain water in the solution after its application. The correct selection of the necessary mixtures is extremely important.
